Notice of Election
Pursuant to Utah Election Code 20A-5-101, I hereby give notice of the offices to be voted on in Morgan County, Utah at the upcoming General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The candidate filing period will be held from March 12 to March 19, 2010.
1. Federal
a. U.S. Senate for a six (6) year term
b. U.S. House of Representatives. One representative for a two (2) year term
in the following U.S. Congressional Districts.
First District. The First Congressional District is located in Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Juab (part), Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake (part), Summit, Tooele, and Weber Counties.
2. State
a. State Executive. Each position will be elected for a two (2) year term.
(1) Governor
(2) Lieutenant Governor
b. House of Representatives. One member of the Utah House of Representatives for a two (2) year term from each of the seventy-five (75) state legislative districts.
3. School Board
a. Local School Board. One board member for a four (4) year term from each of the following districts.
(1) District Two (2) Peterson which consists of the area from the Garnet Drive intersection up to the Peterson overpass including all of Peterson up to Smith Creek and through Enterprise to and including the West side of Stoddard Lane.
(2) District Four (4) Central Morgan which consists of the area from the point of Richville Lane west through Morgan City which includes all area within the city limits south of the Weber River to 200 E (Morgan High School) and the south side of 200 E and Circle Drive.
4. Judicial
a. Court of Appeals. There will be an unopposed retention election for one (1) Court of Appeals Judges provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring file(s) during the filing period.
b. District Court. There will be a retention election for twenty-six (26) District Court Judges in the following districts provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period.
Second District. Four (4) Judges in the Second Judicial District, which consists of Davis, Morgan, and Weber Counties.
c. Juvenile Court. There will be a retention election for eleven (11) Juvenile Court Judges in the following districts provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period.
Second District. One (1) Judge in the Second Judicial District, which consists of Davis, Morgan, and Weber Counties.
d. All Justice Court Judges shall be subject to an unopposed retention election in the county or counties in which the court to which the judge is appointed is located.
5. County
County Council. One member for a four (4) year term from each of the following Morgan County Council Districts.
(1) District One (1) Mountain Green which includes the area from the mouth of Weber Canyon to and including both sides of Garnet Drive and both sides of Cottonwood Canyon Road.
(2) District Two (2) Peterson which consists of the area from the Garnet Drive intersection up to the Peterson overpass including all of Peterson up to Smith Creek and through Enterprise to and including the West side of Stoddard Lane.
(3) District Five (5) North Morgan which includes all the area from and including the east side of Stoddard Lane east through and including Croydon. Also includes all area north of the Weber River to and including the north side of 200 East (Morgan High School) north through Round Valley.
(4) One (1) At Large position.
County Council. One member for a two (2) year term from the following Morgan County Council Districts.
(1) One (1) At Large position.
County Assessor. Four (4) year term
County Attorney. Four (4) year term.
County Clerk/Auditor. Four (4) year term.
County Recorder. Four (4) year term.
County Sheriff. Four (4) year term.
County Treasurer. Four (4) year term.
